It’s the rare anthology where literally every en It’s the rare anthology where literally every entry in it ends up really slapping, but @visyap’s NEVER HAVE I EVER knocked it out of the park! I can’t wait to write a full review of this anthology because each story made me feel such wildly different things, and yet all of it worked so well together and spoke to a very deep, very Filipino part of me. Please please please get your hands on this book. You won’t regret it! ✨
Third read for @wikathon is a book I’ve had on m Third read for @wikathon is a book I’ve had on my shelf for a really long while 😅 I finally got around to reading it and while I did like it initially, my feelings about it became lukewarm the further I read into it 🤭BLOOD AND SAND is alternate historical fiction about Spartacus, and how his real identity is that of a Thracian slave girl named Attia. The action and fight scenes were really good, the first third of the book really draws you in, but unfortunately halfway through I felt it really began losing steam. I’d still recommend this book tbh but only if you’re okay with your books not being particularly meaty in terms of plot and/or character!Have you read this book? What did you think? 🤔

This is probably one of my most favorite YA fantasy books of ✨ all time ✨ honestly getting people to associate my name with these books and read them may probably be my greatest bookish accomplishment of all time 😌🤘🏽It features dark rune magic, badass female and queer characters aplenty, enemies to lovers romance, and a bittersweet ending that even now, 3 years after the conclusion to the trilogy was published, still brings a tear to my eye 🖤All 3 books fit the prompts of BAYLAN, KAYOD, and KATIPUNAN! 💙❤️💛
My second @wikathon read is ARSENIC AND ADOBO by @ My second @wikathon read is ARSENIC AND ADOBO by @mpmthewriter for the Kayod prompt! I’ve been rooting for this book since Day One - I did sensitivity reading for Mia and absolutely fell in love with Lila Macapagal, her lola and tita, and the calendar aunties 🥺 I first read this as a Word document and I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to finally be reading it as a finished copy! Slowly but surely adding to my collection of books where I’m named in the acknowledgments! ✊🏽❤️(Also mucho thanks to @bookapothecaryph for processing my BOTM orders 😉)
